The short version: Your deposit is never lost. It becomes a Lifetime Deposit you can use later. What happens to the rest of your payment depends on when you cancel.

What’s a Lifetime Deposit?
- It never expires. Use it in 10 weeks or 10 years.
- It works on any trip. You can apply it to any GEEO program or public G Adventures trip.
- It’s transferable. Give it to a friend or family member by letting us know in writing.
- It’s for new bookings only. You can use one per booking, and it can’t be added to a trip you’ve already booked.
- It has no cash value. It can’t be refunded.
A Lifetime Deposit isn’t issued if a booking is cancelled for nonpayment or a breach of our terms.
Special cases
- Peru Inca Trail programs follow a different timeline and include a $125 non-refundable Inca Trail permit charge, which is deducted from your deposit. See Peru Inca Trail – Special Terms.
- University grant recipients forfeit their deposit if they cancel.
