Travel Articles for Adult ESL Reading Practice

Contributor :

Nancy Iott

Action Plan

I am a retired French teacher, but now I teach private ESL lessons. For several years I have had a Ukrainian student as well as a Korean student. It has been a joy to watch them reach an advanced reading level along with greatly improved writing and conversation skills. They are both interested in my travels so among the random articles I give them to read, the written itinerary for this trip is already on my list. The classroom Action plans written by fellow participants also provide interesting insights and vocabulary that they would not see in textbooks. Photos from the trip will inspire descriptive conversation.

Pre-Departure Preparation

Do my own research on the geography, languages, and culture of Tanzania.

Preparation During Travel

I will try to pay attention to cultural details and think how about how relatable my experiences might be to others.
