The civilizations and empires of Asia Minor are included in numerous standards of World History curriculum. The curriculum covers such topics as Çatalhöyük, Byzantine Empire, Seljuk Turks (Crusades) Ottoman Empire, WW1, and the Truman Doctrine in Turkey. I would like to compile photos and quotes from primary and secondary sources. I would like for students to be able to view these resources and identify the proper time period they are associated with and to also be able to sort them into timeline order.
Pre-Departure Preparation
I need to review my state’s standards and compile a list of events, people, and places that I would like to include in my matching timeline.
Preparation During Travel
I will need to take photos of artifacts and places that will be represented in my timeline. I also need to collect materials from museums and other places that I visit that can provide quotes and information that can be used in the timeline.
