Peruvian Folktales

Contributor :

Leslie Smith

Action Plan

I will visit a couple of Peruvian and Chilean libraries and ask the librarians about their countries’ iconic folktales. If we have a chance to visit a school, I’ll try to ask a teacher or two about this, as well. I’ll also take photos and collect artifacts.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I’m going to teach a lesson or two on Peruvian folktales and culture to some of my upper elementary students. Being able to provide them with cultural context (including photos and artifacts) will add another dimension to the lessons and encourage the students to think like global citizens.

Preparation During Travel

I have been familiarizing myself with some Peruvian folktales in preparation.
