First-Grade Travel Journal Through Thailand and Laos
Contributor :

Action Plan
I am a first grade teacher and I will keep a travel journal and take many photos to share with my students. I will also create a map to trace my itinerary. I will focus on local architecture and daily life for the local people. Hopefully I will be able to include how students get access to books in the various areas. This parallels nicely with our first ELA unit on how students’ lives are changed by their access to books.
Pre-Departure Preparation
I will look into the various ways children get access to books in the countries.
Preparation During Travel
I will ask the guide for any extra information pertaining to student access to libraries/books.
I will also take the free time to walk around the local areas. I will ask about their school year, government programs pertaining to free access to books.
