Alaskan Wildlife

Contributor :

Danielle Davenport

Action Plan

I will go on hikes in hopes of encountering wildlife up close and personal. I will also talk to locals to see what animals they encounter on a daily basis. I will be taking photographs of any animals I see while hiking or driving around.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I am a 3rd grade Science teacher and would love to incorporate my experience with Alaska’s wildlife into my curriculum. I teach a lot about animal habitats, adaptations and ecosystems. I will bring back photographs and information about Alaska’s wildlife so that we can compare and contrast it to Arkansas’ animals. The students can also determine what adaptations the animals have in order to live in the cold climate of Alaska.

Preparation During Travel

I will research and read books on Alaska’s wildlife so I can be prepared to know what type of animals I will be encountering.
