Action Plan

During my free time/optional excursions I will choose options that expose me to a wide variety of biomes and organisms in an manner with which to get the best photographs and information about these natural wonders.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I am a science teacher and I plan to bring in images and first hand experiences with the different biomes of Costa Rica to my classroom. In addition, I am excited to visit Mt Arenal and show my students not only a volcano but how that impacts the environment and the wide variety of organisms living there. I would also like to discuss how evolution/natural selection has played a large role in the large number of bird species, most notably the quetzal.

Preparation During Travel

I will research the biomes of costa rica and any special adaptations of the organisms there in order to focus my own learning. I will also ask local guides questions concerning these organisms
