Irish Culture Week

Contributor :

Maddie Hunt

Action Plan

I will be keeping an e-journal on my iPad to collect photos, information, and detailed journal accounts of the trip. These will all be shared with my students throughout the year (specifically during the week we focus on Irish culture).

Pre-Departure Preparation

I am a 2nd grade teacher and each week we have a culture that drives the social studies themes in our classroom. I pull in different music, important historical figures, current and past events. Students will be given independent and team tasks that they are accountable for completing before Friday. Going on this trip will allow me to share and expand upon European cultural competencies to be shared with my 2nd graders.

Preparation During Travel

I will be gathering information on the different historic sites we will be visiting. In addition, I am interested to gather more information on traditional music and customs in Ireland.
