Flora and Fauna

Contributor :

Leslie Blaich

Action Plan

I will participate in as many opportunities as possible to observe and learn about the biodiversity and geography of the Galapagos. I will take pictures and keep a journal to record my observations and learning.

Pre-Departure Preparation

The study of living things is a core component of our Science and Social Studies curriculum in Kindergarten. I would like to bring my experiences of the flora and fauna of the Galapagos back to my classroom in North Carolina through photos, personal stories, and books. Depending on student interest, we may compare and contrast the Galapagos with our own WNC environment and share our learning with families and other Kindergarten classes.

Preparation During Travel

I will research the climate, plants, animals, and geography of the Galapagos prior to departure.
