I plan to take advantage of visiting as many historical sites as possible and document my journey through pictures and journal writing. I plan on creating a list of reading materials (testimonials) from a European perspective.
I am a 10th grade Humanities teacher at a dual language school (Eng/Spa). History needs to be taught from multiple perspectives and I would like to include a European Perspective when we study the Holocaust and the Cold War. I am especially interested in creating a unit that has readings and artwork that looks at how memory, history and place interact over time in specific locations.
Before I go on the trip, I will plan on doing a lot of reading so that I can ask focused questions.
