Engineering Principles Behind Iconic Structures

Contributor :

Connie Amon

Action Plan

I will take pictures of structures/buildings and gather any information I can on the building process.

Pre-Departure Preparation

As part of a new unit that I will be teaching next year on the engineering process that ties into our coding curriculum, students will explore the engineering principles behind a structure such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Roman Colosseum. As they construct their own structures, they will put the principles to the test.

Preparation During Travel

I will prepare a list of possible structures/buildings to visit and photograph.
