Ecosystems of Morocco

Contributor :

Misty Tucker

Action Plan

I will ask questions of the locals about the area. I will take pictures while hiking of evidence of interesting formations or rocks. I will seek out local rocks, if available, at the shops.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I teach mainly Earth Science, so I am hoping to explore a bit of the geology and understand the different ecosystems that Morocco has to offer. I can provide pictures, examples, and possibly rock samples of the geologic features of Morocco and the history of how they were formed. This, mixed with a geographic understanding of why people live where they live, will help students understand the how humans are impacted by their environment.

Preparation During Travel

I will look up the formation of the Atlas mountains, the rock types and formations, and the way that people have adapted to their environment.
