We spend the year studying New York City and how it has changed over time. We also study the rural, urban and suburban communities that surround us. I believe it is also important for students to see the similarities and differences of communities around the world. This allows them to appreciate what they have and also appreciate how citizens of communities around the world also meet their wants and needs. Expanding their world view allows students to gain perspective and understanding. I plan on sharing pictures of different communities, as well as share stories and artifacts.
Preparation During Travel
