I will try and find out as much as I can by observing, talking with, and photographing people involved in agriculture.
Pre-Departure Preparation
This year I will be doing a special program, “Agriculture in the Classroom” for K to 5th graders. I will take lots of pictures of all the areas of agriculture and fisheries that I can. I will then have the students compare what we grow, harvest and eat in Maryland to Sri Lanka.
Preparation During Travel
I will find out more information about the various crops and fisheries in Sri Lanka, how they are produced, harvested, etc.
