I will take pictures and videos of the new culture I am immersed in. I will take notes throughout the trip and share my new learning with my students on a blog.
I teach 5th grade and I would like for my students to read and learn more about different cultures through literacy. My plan is to visit Oman and Qatar and learn all about the culture/lifestyle and bring that back to my students through lessons and novels. All year my students participate in book clubs within a given genre. I would like to do a Middle Eastern book club unit and share with them the culture as they read diverse novels in book clubs.
I plan on researching the countries I will be visiting and setting up a way to interact with my students while I am gone.
