Brianna Plaxe
During the trip I will take pictures of the Irish landscapes that lend themselves to rich descriptions. I will try to capture moments of Irish life and culture, particularly pictures of people, so my students can use their imaginations to tell these people’s stories through narrative writing.
As a writing teacher, I will use the pictures I take in Ireland to teach descriptive and narrative writing. Students will write descriptions based on photos of landscapes, buildings, people, etc. to practice using sensory details in their writing. These pictures will also serve as "picture prompts" to spark story ideas during our narrative writing unit.
I have enrolled in a photography course and will continue practicing my photography skills so I can bring home quality photos for my students.
