Action Plan

I will photograph and sketch some of the flora to embed in a student template.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I would like to create a nature journal template based on the Reykjavík Botanic Garden featuring Icelandic Flora so students can better connect with writer Henry David Thoreau’s observations about nature. By writing descriptively about natural surroundings, students will observe and note small details that make up their selected environment.

Preparation During Travel

I will review a virtual tour of the Reykjavík Botanic Garden’s Flora collection to see how they use QR codes to provide additional information on English names, plant description, distribution maps, habitats, medicinal uses, folklore and uses throughout history.
