Collect information, articles, books, pictures of geographical features, make notes for further research.
Pre-Departure Preparation
I am an 8th grade reading teacher so a lot of my nonfiction reading will be coming from artifacts we find during the trip – brochures to teach text features, articles to teach text structures as well with physical elements to bring Iceland into the classroom. Some of my science materials will be passed to the 8th grade science team as well for use on geothermal energy, plate tectonics and flora/fauna.
Preparation During Travel
Just identify the places I would find the info for collecting for the classroom.
