I’d like to keep a journal, take loads of pictures, talk to locals, and obviously visit a few pubs to see traditional Irish song in action!
For our art and poetry unit, I would like to bring the unique styles of Irish song and poetry into the classroom. Students will read and compare/contrast different styles of poetry and write their own poems using Irish poems and poets as inspiration.
Read up on my Joyce and Yeats! In addition I plan to do some research on traditional Irish music, specifically song.
