Human Behavior Leading to Species Loss

Contributor :

Anna Myers

Action Plan

I asked our guide and other experts many questions about environmental sustainability on the Galapagos. Each evening, I took notes and reflected about possible lessons. I also discussed ideas with other members of the group.

Pre-Departure Preparation

I plan to develop inquiry-based lessons for my biology students focused on human behaviors leading to species loss. I will also work with the geography teacher to do one or two classes about the Galapagos.

Preparation During Travel

I read a book that covered all aspects of the Galapagos, including natural history, human history, ecology, evolution and Darwin. Galapagos: The Islands That Changed the World by Paul Stewart.
