Climate Change in India and Nepal

Contributor :

Karen Sondak

Action Plan

I will attend a conference on climate change put on by the climate connection in Minnesota.

Pre-Departure Preparation

When talking about specific issues in my classroom, I will be able to site things that I personally discussed or observed. While in India and Nepal I will be on the lookout for signs of climate change and attempts at adaptation and or mitigation. For example, tree planting programs and look at what trees are being planted and tracked. Every municipal tree in Delhi has a number painted on it and is tracked. Any information I can gather will be helpful. Examination of population trends, CO2 contributions, use of renewable energy. Observation and discussion will be my main ways of investigation. Pictures will be the way I bring this to life.
