Buddhism Unit and Vietnam’s Growth Since The War

Action Plan

My goal is to visit some Buddhist temples, as well as some historic sites related to the Vietnam war.

Pre-Departure Preparation

As a social studies teacher, I plan on using knowledge, multimedia, and items bought on this trip to teach a hands on lesson to my students. Specifically, in 6th grade the lesson will focus on Buddhism and how it affects the culture of these countries. In 7th grade, the lesson will be on the Vietnam war and how the country has grown since that time.

Preparation During Travel

I already teach both subjects (Buddhism and Vietnam war), but I still plan on researching some of the customs of the religion in order to have a better understanding when I am there.
