Visit all the museums and historical spots I can. Talk to people as it feels appropriate. Try to attend a religious service at both a mosque and a church.
I teach a Peace and Justice class and I will teach a unit on the Yugoslav wars in that class (causes and the aftermath). I will also share this experience with the whole school during our "Mission Moment" series where teachers share their adventures and experiences with students.
A bit more reading on the subject so I have everything clear in my head before I visit sites and museums.
