Specifically, I want to research and gather resources about historical Spain and Portugal by bringing back historical artifacts, personal insights, cultural experiences, and the unexpected and serendipitous content knowledge that one only finds from being there.
Pre-Departure Preparation
I will be enhancing my unit on the Age of Exploration by traveling through Portugal and Spain. I will be gathering artifacts and historical insights to use to engage student learning through specialized, inquiry based investigations that support critical thinking, Common Core Standards and 21st Century Learning skills.
Preparation During Travel
I am researching every city on my tour to ensure that I can visit every historical site, museum, and other places of interest where I can glean information about the early explorers, and the cultural/historical factors that inspired Portugal and Spain’s Golden Age of Discovery.
