During my trip I will take pictures and talk to people about the zillij art form. I will gather as much information as I can about the designs and look at simple projects. I would love to bring a simple project back to my classroom!
My Visual Arts students will learn about the traditional Moroccan tile mosaic work called zellij. While in Morocco I would like to take pictures of this decorative tile work. I plan on creating a mosaic art project for my students using these geometric designs. When the projects are finished I would like to display them during open house for the community to see!
In preparation for my trip to Morocco I will do some research on the history, color and design of the art form zellij.
