I am a science teacher and I would like to teach my students about Peruvian agriculture and engineering. I will collect climate data and have students compare to New York City climate data. Students will use engineering skills learned to create a design experiment as their 8th grade exit project.
I will research the climate and agriculture of the towns we will be visiting. I will create data tables to collect information on the sites. I will also research engineering and architecture techniques specific to the Peruvian culture.
Preparation During Travel
I will take pictures of the indigenous plants. I will talk to the locals about their culture and traditions in relation to agriculture. I will take pictures of the Peruvian structures, I will also note what time period they were built. On one of the free nights I will attend a museum.
